Hall-Dawson CASA Welcomes Joy Green as New Development Specialist

Hall-Dawson CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is excited to announce and welcome Joy Green to the team as Development Specialist. In this new role, Joy will collaborate with CASA Board of Directors and community partners with a strategic focus on resource development.

Joy joins Hall-Dawson CASA with a wide array of experience in fundraising, special events management and community engagement over the past 20 years. She is an accomplished development professional in the community, most recently serving with Northeast Georgia Health System Foundation for more than a decade. Joy previously served at SISU and March of Dimes in various development roles.

“Joy is one more asset in the community representing the needs of abused and neglected children here in Hall and Dawson counties,” said Executive Director Janet Walden. “You will see Joy forging new partnerships and leading events as we seek to expand community engagement, both through financial support and volunteer recruitment.”

Joy is excited about the opportunity to serve in this new role at Hall-Dawson CASA. “The mission of this organization is so compelling. The staff and volunteers, in particular, are truly giving children a voice and a chance for a better life – children who have been abused or neglected,” she said. “I look forward to the opportunity to share this story with our generous community as we work together to protect the best interests of these children who need us most.”

Joy, a graduate of Auburn University, and her husband Mark (a University of Alabama graduate) have lived in Gainesville for nearly 22 years. Mark serves as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church. They have a daughter Lucy Kate, a Samford University graduate living and serving at Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham, Alabama, and a son Herve, who is a senior accounting major at Reinhardt University. Joy and Mark enjoy hiking in the beautiful northeast Georgia mountains, spending time on Lake Lanier, (mostly) friendly banter over college football, and gardening.

Joy looks forward to getting acquainted with our wonderful CASA community. Please join us in welcoming her! joy@halldawsoncasa.org or 678-462-1721.
